Inspiration Boosters for Busy Professionals

We’re all busy people so I’m going straight into it. Here are 4 Instant Inspiration Booster Shots. Use them whenever you have 5 or 15 minutes of down-time and need an inspirational shot in the arm, perhaps before a team meeting or a special event.

1. Review Your Goals

Success is the privilege of the organised. Having absolute clarity of vision for your goals is essential if you want to achieve them. If you have a few minutes to spare, go over them one more time. If you want effective goals that inspire you and your team, make sure they are:

  • Simple: if they are too complex to grasp in an instant, they can’t be actioned effectively.
  • Measurable: ensure that you’ll know it when you get there.
  • Positive: negative goals don’t inspire people nearly as effectively as positive ones.

For example, instead of “I will stop smoking”, a more positive and time-bound goal could be phrased as: “I will be smoke-free by a specific date 3 months from now”.

3. Social Media

Social media is a great source of instant inspiration. If you want a quick fix, I recommend Twitter most of all. Just create a search for the hashtags: #inspiration (or even better #inspirationzone), #motivation, #success or #happiness. This will result in a veritable river of inspiring concepts. I do this every day and I always come up with a host of new ideas and perspectives.

2. Look Up

This one’s so easy, you’ll think I cheated, but it works. Just take 2 minutes to leave your building and look up. What will you see there that’s always present whenever you need it 24/7 and 365 days a year? Yes, you got it: the sky. Take time to gaze up at an ever-changing sequence of patterns and shades, day or night. The night sky is just as complex as the daytime view, just give it time for all that detail to reveal itself.

4. 15 Minute Fix

I’ve saved the best for last. If you’ve got a spare 15 minutes, just grab your smart phone or laptop and go to and check out the enormous variety of hand-picked material here that is almost always bound to inspire you and get your creative juices flowing.

The Next Step

What’s the next step? We don’t have time to waste discussing it. Don’t wait. Get started on your success today. As Muhammad Ali once famously said: “Don’t count the days. Make the days count.”
